Where Leisure Meets Learning
Come learn more about the AUsome Ampibians and Reptiles that are a part of our native Alabama ecosystem. Participants will have the opportunity to see and touch these animals up close. The presentation will be led by Dr. Wes Anderson of the College of Forestry, Wildlife and Environment and will begin with a visit from Aubie at 4:15pm Tickets are $5/person and can be purchased HERE at our Marketplace.
Come join us on the trails as the KPNC transforms into a magical place where animals and plants can talk and interact with their human friends for just three enchanted evenings, October 17-19th. Participants will embark on a guided journey through the woods where they will get to meet talking insects, mammals, and more and learn more about them and their home in the forest. Tours take between 40-50 minutes and depart every ten minutes between 5:30-7:00pm. Tickets are $10 each for participants 3 and older and s’mores are available for purchase to enjoy after the hike. Continue reading “Donor Wall Opportunities Now Open”Registration begins on August 5th for our fall programming including Tree Tots, Forest Friends, Pond Pals, Nature Explorers, and Fall Camps. In addition, we also some fun fall events coming up such as our In the Garden workshop on Aug. 24 and Hummingbird Banding on Sept 7th. Save the dates for our annual Halloween Enchanted Forest October 17-19 and Nature Nightmares Oct 25-26, as well as our AUSome Amphibians and Reptiles shows on September 20 and November 1.
There are still some spots available for rising 6th-8th graders for our Summer Adventure Camp. This year’s camp will be an overnight experience July 15-17th in the beautiful longleaf habitat of the Solon Dixon Center in Andalusia, AL. For registration or more information, click here.
This Saturday, June 15th, join Cyndi in the garden from 1-3pm to learn about how to cultivate the best herb garden. This workshop includes helpful tips and tricks from our resident expert gardener and hands-on experience in our garden. Register for this workshop here.
Our annual S’more Fun with Mom and S’more Fun with the Family events are quickly approaching. Join us for a beautiful evening under the stars celebrating Moms and sons and families this Mother’s Day weekend, May 10-11th. The event begins at 6:00pm with a hot-dog cookout and then it is time to create a memorable craft together before embarking on an evening hike through our trails. The evening ends with an interactive storytelling experience featuring Melanie Brown and of course some delicious s’mores. Tickets are $30 for mother/child with $10 for each additional child. Come play with us out in the woods on Saturday, April 6th from 10am-12pm. This free event for the community will highlight the importance of play for everyone and is held in partnership with the Auburn University Early Learning Center.
