The KPNC welcomes bat expert Vicky Beckham Smith for an incredible up-close look at bats and their fascinating lives in the dark! See live bats and join a night hike to look for wild bats. Saturday, May 22, 6:30 – 8:30 PM. Tickets available now!
Continue reading “Science on Saturdays: Bats!”Join us for S’more Fun with Mom, Lee County’s mother/son adventure, co-hosted by the Kreher Preserve & Nature Center and the City of Auburn. For boys aged 4 to 12 and their moms, this fun evening will include a night hike, cookout, storytelling, and s’mores! Our mother/son duos may visit a craft station to create their own keepsake art project, and a photographer will be available for photos.
S’more Fun with Mom will be offered two evenings: Thursday and Friday, May 6 and 7 from 6:00 – 8:30 PM. The cost is $30 per mother/son duo ($10 each for any additional children).
COVID precautions will be in place, in accordance with University, State, and CDC recommendations at that time. We will communicate these requirements with ticket holders as the event gets nearer.

The KPNC welcomes Dr. Adam Cooner to take you on an exciting adventure into the world of wildlife medicine. Learn all about veterinarian work with exotic animals and see live animals up close and in-person.
This is a one-hour, lecture-style program that will provide exciting and interactive nature education. Admission is $5 ($4 for members); children 3 and under are free. Cancelled in the event of rain.
At Auburn’s CityFest, this weekend, the KPNC will be selling unique t-shirts. Come and see us at our tent in the Children’s Imagination Station – Sunday, April 25, anytime between 12 – 6 PM. We’ll have live animals and tons of nature education displays for you to explore!!
Come and celebrate the incredible world we call home on Earth Day, April 22, from 3 to 5 PM!! We have all kinds of fun and educational activities lined up, including the grand opening of our Tree Walk.
Activities include a craft to build your own Earth Day mobile, a recycling relay game, demonstrations on solar power and LED lighting, ‘bombing’ the earth with seed bombs, and an exercise to examine how long trash really lasts!
Earth Day cookies will be provided by Publix. The Tree walk will be unveiled at 4 PM and guided walks will take you down the trail to explore the more than 65 labeled tree species. And at 4:45, relax and enjoy Earth Day readings – poems and stories that will inspire you to appreciate and care for the nature world!
Create your own planters out of recycled plastic bottles at this month’s Nature Art Workshop, Saturday, April 17th, 2 to 4 PM.
Science on Saturdays: Tales from a Wildlife Vet, has been postponed until May 1st, 10-11 AM. If you already purchased tickets, they will transfer automatically and there is nothing you need to do. If you cannot attend the May 1st date, you may email us for a refund or a gift receipt if you want to make your ticket purchase a donation to the Nature Center.
