Join us Friday, Nov 1, for the last AUsome Amphibians and Reptiles of 2019!

Aubie will be joining us, as well as a myriad of incredible amphibians and reptiles from our friends at the Department of Biological Sciences.

AUsome Amphibians is a one-hour presentation on the awesome amphibians and reptiles found in our state and beyond! Children and adults will enjoy this entertaining, hands-on program with live animals.

Admission is $5/person. Children 3 and under are free. Pre-registration is not required. Proceeds benefit the Kreher Preserve & Nature Center.

Save the Saugahatchee!

Save Our Saugahatchee, an organization who’s mission is to preserve, protect and restore the Saugahatchee Watershed, is meeting at the KPNC on Thursday evening from 6:30 to 8 PM.

Hike for Reptiles!

Our FREE guided hikes in July will center on reptiles. We will show you examples of different reptile habitats and how to identify reptiles and amphibians in the wild. Come and see how many you can find!

Family Discovery Hikes are hosted at 3:30 PM on the second Tuesday of each month and are for the whole family.

Nature Walks are hosted at 8:30 AM on the second Thursday of each month and are for adults only.

The Southeastern Raptor Center Comes to the KPNC!

Science On Saturdays: Raptors

The KPNC is full of birds of prey of many difference species. Join our Science on Saturdays program, June 29, and let the Southeastern Raptor Center show you some of those birds, as well as non native species, up close!! You’ll get to see these beautiful birds in the KPNC Amphitheater and learn about their habitat, natural history, and the challenges facing these majestic creatures.

Science on Saturdays is a one-hour, lecture-style program that will provide the opportunity to see and interact with live animals. Admission is $5 ($4 for members); children 3 and under are free. Cancelled in the event of rain.

We are all looking for ways to contribute to the protection and conservation of our environment, and there is no better way then to become an eBird user! Join the Kreher Preserve & Nature Center educators and guest instructors for an introduction to this essential tool.

Let’s Talk Turtles!

Saturday, May 18th, the KPNC’s Science on Saturdays series presents Turtle Talk with Stan Arrington. Stan, biologist and naturalist at Auburn University’s Fisheries department, will take us on an adventure, exploring the incredible world of the most beloved of reptiles: turtles.

Alabama’s diverse geology and natural habitat has resulted in the state having more turtles species than any other! Visitors will get to see live turtles and children’s activities will be available.

Help Support Mental Health!

This Thursday, join the KPNC and Five Fifty Fifty for a casual 5K walk/run to support Mental Health issues and those suffering from them.

REGISTER NOW!

Race time is 6:30 PM.  Pickup your packets between 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM.  This is a casual walk/run and will not be timed.  Everyone is welcome!  All participants will receive a high-quality shirt.  We recommend signing up in advance, however, event-day registration will be available.
