Join our resident herpetologist, Kayla Wilson and other KPNC educators for a one-hour hands-on presentation on the AUsome amphibians and reptiles found in our state and beyond! Children and adults will enjoy interacting with live animals and getting to meet some of these interesting species.

2022 dates include September 16, October 28, and November 11. Program begins at 4:30pm in our covered pavilion. Tickets can be purchased online through our Marketplace. More information on this program can be found here.

Spend fall break with your friends in the forest this year! Campers will explore and learn alongside KPNC Naturalists and Teachers all the beauty that the fall brings to the woods. Camps are $75.00 per camper per session and run from 8:00am-3:00pm. Campers will bring their own lunch and water bottle and we will provide the rest! Learn more and register here: Fall Camps

Registration opens today for our Nature Explorers program for homeschool families and our award-winning Forest Friends and Tree Tots programs for our younger explorers and their caregivers. Auburn University’s Southeastern Raptor Center will visit the Kreher Preserve & Nature Center this Saturday (June 11, 10 – 11 AM) to show you some of their incredible birds, up-close and in-person.  The program will include a variety of live raptors, most native to Alabama, and you learn all about their habitat, natural history, and the challenges facing these majestic creatures.

LIBERTY TEA IS CANCELLED

Liberty Tea will be rescheduled for later in the year.

Have you ever wondered what kind of tea the early American colonists drank after the Boston Tea Party?

In this workshop, you’ll learn about some of the native plants used to make tea during and after the boycott of English tea in the 1700’s. Inspired by and learned from ancient Native American traditions, we’ll discuss how to grow and harvest these plants and demonstrate how to make simple infusions and decoctions. You’ll enjoy trying some of the teas and go home with a few samples to get you started making your own Liberty Tea.

Liberty Tea is a two-hour classroom-style workshop that includes a short walk and a live demonstration. Admission is $5 ($4 for members); this workshop is not recommended for young children. You may purchase tickets in advance or pay at the door. Cancelled in the event of rain.
