The Kreher Preserve & Nature Center Summer Ecology Camp offers the opportunity to learn through nature in a safe and beautiful environment. Campers will experience complete, nature-based lessons covering diverse educational topics; and enjoy exercise and fresh air through hikes and time on the Nature Playground. Summer Ecology Camp is a great opportunity for your children to socialize with their peers, learn about nature and the important role it has in our lives, and see wildlife up close.
This summer, campers will dig into Alabama’s incredible geologic story—one that includes ancient oceans, erupting volcanoes, glittering minerals, and the rocks beneath our feet. These beautiful rocks shape our forests, streams, and wildlife! Through hands-on experiments, projects, investigations, and exploration, campers will uncover how rocks form, how landscapes change, and why Alabama is one of the most geologically and biologically diverse places in the country. Come discover how much Alabama rocks!
Camps run Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM until 12:00 PM. Drop off begins at 7:45 AM. Each week is designed for a different age group, with the two Explorers weeks designed for mixed ages. Choose one or two weeks of camp for your child(ren) when you register.
